Do vectored instruction and prism diagnostics work in tutor mode? Thank you!
12 July 2022, 12:55
Hello! Thank you for the question.
Switching a course into "Tutoring Mode" will allow the student to view all of the steps within the course and they may jump to any step. The system tools, such as 'Vectored Instruction' and 'Prism Diagnostics' would not be available to students in this mode.
By default, students in Power Homeschool will start at the beginning of each course in "Teaching Mode". In this mode, when a student excels, the system quickly moves them forward as they demonstrate mastery of each concept. However, when a student struggles, the system detects this and provides personalized instruction needed to fill in the missing concepts. (Please see below for more information about these tools.) "Teaching Mode" is also the recommended mode if a 'Completion Certificate' is desired.
For more information about how to use "Tutoring Mode", please see the tutorial available on our website:
USER GUIDE--Setting Teaching Mode/Tutoring Mode.
Prism Diagnostics® identifies specific deficiencies in students' understanding of core concepts and responds immediately with Customized Personal Instruction (CPI) videos for that precise deficit. The result is that every student receives personalized instruction – right at the moment when they need it most.
Vectored Instruction™ has changed the dynamic of online education. This technology is enabling students to master foundational skills they are missing that are prerequisites to success in their current course of study. Vectored Instruction fills in the gaps while keeping students within their credit-level course, enabling them to complete their coursework with passing grades and get on track for graduation.
