Although students may take the SAT any time starting freshman year, most take it for the first time in the spring of their junior year and possibly retake it in the fall of their senior year.
It is important to plan ahead because there are scheduled periods in the year when the SAT may be taken. For more information, please see the following link: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat
