Not seeing a Turn In Button for Special Lessons

My student is wanting to submit a writing assignment through a Special Lesson. He has the "Add Work" button but not the "Turn it In" option. He has "Save" and "Submit" but no option to upload from another writing program.
Please help!

When students are assigned Special Lesson assignments, they can locate these through the Special Lesson tab indicated by a brown briefcase.
Students can select the Special Lesson and click the "Add Work" option to start working on the assignment. While working on the assignment, we recommend that students save their work so it will not be lost.
Once the student finishes the assignment, they can select the "Submit" option to turn it in.
